Hartbeespoort Dam: It’s an Affordable Destination

February 20th, 2012

Rick and I are trying to plan a great summer getaway for ourselves and the kids. But it’s been such a rough year financially that we don’t really have that much to spend on a holiday. And naturally, we want to make sure that we get a good deal. So a friend of mine suggested that we look into b&b hartbeespoort dam. She said that she was up there with her family last year and they had the best time. She highly recommends that we try out the place. There are tons of bed and breakfasts and lodges in and around the area that are very affordable. I’ve heard that the place is absolutely stunning. It’s right around the Magaliesberg mountains so it’s very picturesque. And there is tons to do up there, for young and for old. Well Rick was sold on the place as soon as he heard that there are golf courses up there.

Best African Safari Vacation Packages

February 13th, 2012

Learn about the best African safari vacation packages and how timing matters in getting the same. Tourists need to learn the difference between peak and off peak seasons and how this can affect the cost of your vacation package. During peak seasons, there usually are great numbers of people touring the hotelier industry thus the cost of vacation packages are high due to the demand for the same. On the other hand, during off peak season, the demand for hotelier and safari vacation packages and services is low and well, true to the law of economics, when demand is low, supply is high.

Thus the costs of vacation packages will be lower. A good example of peak season is during the Easter, august and December holidays. Off peak season includes the month of January when the economy seems to have come to a standstill. That said, choose, and do choose wisely, when to go for that safari vacation.

Packing Hand Carry Only for a Bahamas Vacation

January 15th, 2012

Are you going to the Bahamas on hand-carry luggage only? You’ve got to be kidding, right? Well, not really. It IS possible and in fact, some travellers prefer to do it this way. Why? Because there’s no more stress in finding your luggage in the conveyor belt, no more stress of lost luggages and most of all, no more bulky bags to lug around. So how do you travel to the Bahamas with just one small bag? Think of the things you’ll wear while you are there you just need a couple of swimsuits (of course they are tiny), some sun dresses, 2 pairs of shorts (probably three), flip flops, sandals, a dressy pair of flats, a shawl and a couple of shirts. When you plan to check out the Bahamas vacation packages, you will see that you need not bring more than these. Forget the extra jacket or that bulky stiletto you are there to chill and relax! Leave your laptop at home (or at least, clean out your work mail from your laptop). Just bring a small purse to bring with you when you go walking on the beach or exploring the local market place.

I Wish I Was There Now

January 14th, 2012

My husband and I have been working a lot of overtime because our business lost a major contract. It took some work but we were able to get it back. We knew we needed to take a few days for ourselves because we had worked up to 20 hours on some days to make it happen. I looked up depoe bay oregon vacation rentals after a friend recommended it and found a really nice oceanfront condo. The one bedroom, two bathroom condo was close to the beach and had a lot of amenities that we would both enjoy. I booked the room for a week because we just needed some time for just the two of us. It was perfect too. It was our first time there and I know we will be going back at least once a year just to regroup and have some of that much needed us time. I actually wish I was there right now!

Where is Punta Cana

December 31st, 2011

Punta Cana is located on the upper east coast of the Dominican Republic, at least the “real” Punta Cana is. However, what has become known as “Punta Cana” takes up almost the entire east coast of the Dominican Republic which is at least 30 miles, maybe more than 40 miles. So, when people speak of Punta Cana, http://www.dominicanrepublic411.com/bavaro/punta_cana.html, they are usually speaking of the entire east coast. Just keep this in mind as you plan out any trip there. You want to dig into the details of exactly where they are referring to. I personally like to stay in the southern part so I’m closer to the south coast and all the amazing boat trips you can take out of Bayahibe, including the ones that go to Catalinitia Island and Saona Island.

Punta Cana is only about 70 miles as the bird flies from Puerto Rico across the Mona Passage.

The Most Beautiful Wedding to Which I've Been

December 26th, 2011

Daytona Beach Weddings by Sun Kissed WeddingsOne of my friends recently was married. She and her husband had one of the Clearwater Beach weddings. It was simply amazing. They had all of us stay at this incredible resort-like place on the beach. We had all week to play on the beach and prepare for the wedding. I spent most of the week sunbathing out on the beach. I was able to get the most gorgeous tan right before their ceremony. On Friday night, when the sun was setting, they started their wedding ceremony. The wind gently blew through everyone’s hair. The sand was warm and inviting underneath my bare feet. When the sun went down, there were torches lining the space where the ceremony was held. It was a romantic and serene ceremony. I am so happy for them. It was one of the most beautiful weddings that I’ve ever seen. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be there and to participate.

Go out of Your Comfort Zone, Enjoy a Holiday Vacation

December 19th, 2011

How often do you go out of your comfort zone? Many of us lead lives that follow a pattern. We go to work, and then we go home. On weekends, we sometimes go out to drink with our friends. On Sundays, some of us go to church or just kick back and relax. It’s a pattern that many of us are familiar and comfortable with: it’s our comfort zone. If you are looking into being a little adventurous, consider going out of your comfort zone. See a country you never considered visiting before, and enjoy a nice adventure for your Thomson Holidays 2012 vacation. Plenty of developing nations simply have so much to offer in terms of natural scenery, so you might enjoy backpacking or just extending your aid by making donations or volunteering while you are visiting this country. You will be sure to change a person’s life and realize how fortunate you are. You also get to go out of your comfort zone and see the world outside your own realm.

Traveling to Dubrovnik and Need a Car

December 18th, 2011

When my impulsive, irresponsible little sister called to tell me she was getting married to someone she had just met on holiday in Croatia, I was devastated. I wasn’t going to go to the wedding, but my mom just wouldn’t take no for any answer. I told her that the only way I was going was if I could rent my own car so that I had a getaway if I couldn’t stand my sister’s new husband. My mom agreed, so while we were on the plane to Dubrovnik, I did an internet search for “cheap car hire Dubrovnik“. It sounded like such an off-the-wall place that I wasn’t sure the people there even drove cars, let alone hired them out, but imagine my surprise when I found the website for Argus Car Hires. They had a location right there at the airport where we were landing, and I got a really great price on a really great car.

Visit Mapquest.com to Get the Best Driving Directions

November 8th, 2011

There are a lot of online mapping softwares that provide free driving directions, the most popular sites are Google Maps, Mapquest, Bing Maps, Yahoo Maps, Expedia, Via Michelin, and Rand McNally, but my two favorite sites are without any doubt Google Maps and Mapquest. Google Maps has a lot of cool features, my favorite feature is probably “street view”, street view allows me to explore the world through great 360 degree street level images, I also love Google Mars, Google Moon, and Google Ocean. On the other hand mapquest provides probably the best driving directions on the web, even with G Maps on the scene, Mapquest is still the most popular driving directions service in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and England. If you want to get free accurate driving directions visit mapquest.com, once you are at the site look for the “get directions” link, click on it, enter your locations in the route planner, and hit enter, mapquest will automatically plot the best route on the map, and turn by turn directions on the left column.

Benefits of Getting Limo Service in NYC from the Airport

November 2nd, 2011

The airports in NYC are both quite busy throughout the day and night. Although there are a lot of options for public transportation, this can be really slow and unreliable. Instead of spending the rest of your day on a bus or going through the subway, consider hiring limo service NYC from the airport. This is going to be more expensive than public transportation, but not too much more than a cab. Being able to enjoy the ride in comfort and style is worth the cost and will allow you to relax after a long flight. The limo driver will actually meet you and take your bags for you, leaving the trip to be stress free. It is also a lot safer than taking a taxi, since some taxi drivers can be a little bit scary to ride with. The limo service is a great way to start off a trip to NYC!

Dream Vacation to Greece

October 14th, 2011

I don’t know about you but as a child I was obsessed with greek mythology. I think it started when I was around seven years old and I found a magazine about the mythical characters. From then on I devoured all the literature I could find about Greek mythology. After I ran out of stories I turned to media and watched all the different adaptions of the classic tales. My life long obsession with Greece is what prompted me to request a graduation present in the form of a trip to Greece. My parents were nervous about letting me go but a friend of mine who is an exchange student from the country took a trip to coincide with mine so we could visit all the sites together. I found a cheap rental by searching for car hire Athens and we hit the pavement as soon as we arrived. I can’t wait to show everyone the pictures I have taken.
