I see a lots and lots of cheap boats, yachts, and pwc’s liquidate boat auction sales eventsacross the U.S. Now over the internet there are even more that sell cheap and most never know about it. So, if you’ve ever attended an online boat auction sale you realize the potential that’s available. Bargain boat auction hunters who end up coming out on the winning end of things at boat auctions are simply those who have routinely seen a lot more boats and related marine equipment and parts at auction than the next guy and have been persistant to simply wait till they find a real winner.

Now don’t just think you’ll right away find a sea worthy, pristine boat on your first auction for anything over 25% off. At auction most bank repo boats that sell at auction have previously been taken in and repaired by marine tech’s and mechanics to prepare for a quick re-sale. These boat auction houses must liquidate their clients assets for top dollar to really satisfy the clients and to see a profit as well.

So how do you bid. Well, you may want to bid low, but don’t bid crazy low. It’s best to start checking out other vessels in that locale or geographic area that reflect that same as to what you are wanting to buy. Do this before bidding. If you’re bid low and it’s more than 60-70%% below current market value. Be careful. Don’t wait for a counter offer.

Be prepared at an auction if you’re anounced the winning bidder. You not only have a balance due but any title and admin costs wil be due on that same day as well. This is normal and you shouldn’t be surprised by it or upset.

One sure responsibility to also consider is your pre bidding deposits. It’s usually paid when you apply to bid. So again, do not get upset and disappointed when requested to submit application along with your bidders fees to secure any type of bid.

Finally, realize that it’s better to attend just a couple of repo boat auctions first before you run out and bid. Initially think about having fun while you take the time to learn. You’ll be like most and want bid and win at auction. So just relax. If your patient you will get rewarded at auction.
